Taste of the NFL: Prepare to Indulge in the Best Food from Around the Country at ‘Party with a Purpose’
This year’s Taste of the NFL Super Bowl party is called ‘Party with a Purpose’ and will be held at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, February 6, 2010. The Taste of the NFL organization has thrown a Super Bowl party for the past 18 years and is known for bringing out the best chefs from around the country. ‘Party with a Purpose’ is billed as a strolling food and wine event which means that guests will have access to food prepared by many different chefs from around the country. Each team will be represented by a chef from that particular NFL city and all of the stations will be staffed with a NFL player from the same city. You will want to come hungry to this event. We here at Super Sunday HQ recommend starting with the New York Jets station since they will have Shin Tsujimura of NOBU fame. You could fly to New York and spend a few hundred dollars at NOBU or make your way to this event and get a sampling of the best food around in one location. For the full listing of the chefs, please click here There will be an opportunity to meet a lot of current and former NFL players but we have to tell you that there are no star players on the list. Check it out for yourself - This event is officially a party but since it is more focused on food and starts at 7 p.m., it may serve as a pre-party for those dedicated partygoers who want to make the scene. Expect a laid-back vibe and dress accordingly – business casual is the suggested attire. For entertainment, the Bare Naked Ladies will be performing and they are expected to go on around 10 p.m. There will be live auctions that will be held throughout the night including tickets to the Super Bowl for those last minute ticket buyers. We are expecting there to be more announcements regarding celebrities in attendance so check back to www.supersundayhq.com or the official party website. Tickets are priced at $500 for general admission and $600 for a VIP ticket. According to the official party website, the general admission tickets are sold out so you may have to buy a VIP ticket if you want to get into this party. The VIP ticketholders are allowed into the event an hour early, at 6 p.m. As with most events, corporate seating is available ($6,000 which gives up to 10 guests access to the party). You can purchase your tickets here or by calling (952)835-7621. This is clearly a high-end event. Rest assured that it is all for a good cause – Taste of the NFL has a clear focus on combating hunger. The organization, whose motto is “Let’s Kick Hunger”, distributes money to food banks around the country. The Broward County Convention Center is located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316. Official party website - http://www.tasteofthenfl.com/
