The Athletes' Party: Biz Markie brings more than "Just a Friend" to Entertain

One Super Weekend – ‘Red Carpet Event’ and ‘Athlete’s Party’
“One Super Weekend” begins their events on Saturday evening with “The Red Carpet Event." The event will kick off at 7 p.m. with a red carpet entry for the stars, followed by a dinner and an awards ceremony honoring Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy, Cleveland Browns’ wide receiver Braylon Edwards, and Deanna Favre for their philanthropic work. The evening will be co-hosted by actor/comedian Cedric the Entertainer and Deion Sanders and an open bar, presented by Bacardi & Grey Goose, will be in effect all throughout the evening. This portion of the event ends at 9:30 p.m.
Once the dinner and awards ceremony (“the Red Carpet Event”) is completed, the real party (“The Athletes’ Party”) begins. Officially, this portion of the event runs from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Hip-hop MC Biz Markie will perform and a free casino night will be created by Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino and Resort.
The location for the ‘One Super Weekend’ events will be the most unique of all the parties for Super Bowl weekend – Athletes’ Performance Center in Tempe. This is a state-of-the-art sports training facility that will be converted into an entertainment and party venue.

Jerry Rice, Eric Dickerson, Torry Holt, Joe Namath, Orlando Pace, Deion Sanders, Terry Bradshaw, Ray Lewis, Brett Favre, Donovan McNabb, Jerome Bettis, Doug Flutie, Marshall Faulk, Cuba Gooding Jr., Michael Irvin, Priest Holmes, and Evander Holyfield.
The charity hosting these events is Youth Lifeline America. A total of seven charities, including the Deanna Favre Hope Foundation and the Phoenix Children’s Hospital, will serve as beneficiaries from the proceeds of the ticket sales.
Sunday Party:
A separate ticket can be purchased for a special Super Bowl party that will also be held at the Athletes’ Performance Center in Tempe. Some of the athletes and celebs that will be attending Saturday night’s party will also be in attendance for this party. Numerous plasma TVs will be set up in an area called the “Athletes’ Lounge” which should be a memorable way to watch the Big Game. Time = Noon to post-game. Tickets = $1,000.
