DirecTV Celebrity Beach Bowl 2009 in Tampa

The third annual DirecTV Celebrity Beach Bowl is a flag football game that will take place on Saturday, January 31 at Progress Energy Park in St. Petersburg, FL.  This flag football game will be played by various celebrities to provide a fun event for the crowd during Super Bowl week.  The pre-game show will begin at 1:30 p.m., kickoff is set to take place at 2:30 p.m. and the post-game concert will begin at 3:30 p.m.

DirecTV’s strategy is to put together teams consisting of Hollywood celebrities, former NFL players and beautiful models to create a fun event for everyone.  Playboy’s senior VP of public relations has confirmed that Playboy will be participating in this year’s event so you know that there will be plenty of eye candy in this year’s game. 

While the list of celebrities that will be participating this year has not been released, we can tell you who played in last year’s game in order to give you some idea of what to expect – Kendra Wilkinson (star of E!’s The Girls Next Door), Maria Menounos, Stacy Keibler, Kim Kardashian, Blake Lively (star of Gossip Girls), David Spade, Terry Crews and former NFL quarterback Doug Flutie.  Last year’s post-game concert featured Fall Out Boy.

There is very little information available on this year’s event so you are going to have to do your homework on this one.  Based on last year’s turnout and the fact that Playboy has already confirmed their participation, we think that this should be a very fun event to attend for those in town during Super Bowl week.  The number listed for information on the event is (727)825-3137.  Check back to SuperSundayHQ.com for updates as more information becomes available.
