INTERVIEW
Super Sunday HQ caught up with the mastermind behind the Good Life Experience Series of parties, Michael Bilello, President and Founder of Centurion Strategies, a Tampa-based integrated strategies firm. He was kind enough to give us the inside info on these topics:
On the Genesis of the Good Life Experience:
"Basically, Deion Sanders was attending one of Diddy's parties and Deion talked about doing a Super Bowl party. You have the biggest name in entertainment and one of the biggest names in sports and the concept and idea sort of made complete sense.
So Deion came to me and said 'I'd like to do a Super Bowl Party with Diddy' and I have a company called Centurion strategy that does everything from public relations to various integrated strategies. He said 'we'd like to do a party' and I happened to be talking to Winky Wright and his business manager and they wanted to do a party . So I literally brought everybody together on they phone, and we talked about it, and we founded the Good Life Experience: the first time that there would be three consecutive nights of parties, each night will be a different theme, and its also gonna be one of those parties where the celebrities will be literally in the same room as the general public. The parties will be interactive. It will be a unique experience. We are setting a precedent for a Super Bowl party this year."
On using firms that get celebrities to come to parties; i.e. "celebrity wranglers."
"Celebrity wranglers are useful when someone is trying to put on an event and there is outside talent they're looking at bringing into the event. This is literally Diddy, Deion, and Winky Wright's personal parties. So its their guestlist, celebrity friends, athlete friends, and family. It's their party. So there's really no need for a celebrity wrangler. Simply because all their friends and some of their family members and associates are all A-list celebrities to begin with."
On the recent state of the economy's effecton the party, if any:
"We are giving everybody one choice for all their party needs. In this economy it makes complete sense, so you can literally come to the Good Life Experience all three nights and you don't have to worry about traveling around or paying different admission or cover charges. Everything you could possibly want out of Super Bowl week, will be at these parties, Thursday Night, Friday Night, and Saturday. There's also a Breast Cancer Walk on Saturday morning, and a Celebrity Golf Tournament on Thursday. So this is literally, your one stop shop. We know that a lot of people this year live by discretion or just without choice will be spending less money, but I think they're gonna be more targeted as to where they're going to spend their money. And we're seeing great success with the Good Life Experience."
On breaking down the three nights of star-studded parties:
"All in line with the Good Life. Nothing but the best. Diddy is co-hosting all three nights. Thursday night you get the Vegas Fight Fight. That's Winky's night and that's Winky's interpetation of the good life. He's gonna recreate what Vegas is like after he wins the fight. Friday night Deion Sanders is going to show you his interpretation of the good life. So what it's like after a big win or after a big game - like one of the biggest sports productions you've ever been to. Saturday night is Diddy's Interpretation of the good life. A Diamonds and Pearls gala. Almost a combination between the Oscars and the Grammys."
On, where Diddy will be during the parties, a skybox?
"It's a skybox and it actually overlooks the main stage and a lot of the club. so when you're downstairs or upstairs, you'll be able to see diddy the entire time. It's literally a skybox but its open air, almost like an opera house, when they have those boxes in the mezzanine, something like that."
On the benefits of buying a VIP ticket:
"VIP you will get a chance to cross over the velvet ropes and have more of a chance to interact with celebrities. It will be very well run, it won't be one of those cattle-call type parties. If you buy your VIP tickets, you will literally get VIP treatment."
On the celebrity guest list:
"We're not going to release anyone who has RSVP'd to the party or say that this person's going to be at the party or this person is not going to be at the party. If you throw your own party, you wouldn't tell your friends "this person's going to be there" So we're not doing it this year. Just know that when you have Diddy, Deion, and Winky Wright throwing three parties, you will be getting those A-list celebrities. For example, with the golf event on thursday, we have so many NFL athletes that have responded, I can stack the the golf tournament with just pro-bowlers. So we're not going to name the attending celebrities. We don't want to sell that type of event. We're not trying to sell the sizzle because we've got such a good event."
