Posted Jan 15th 2008 4:11PM by Ken Spalasso, SBPHQ Staff

Eleven NFL players will receive recognition for the 2007 year at the 26th annual Player of the Year Awards Dinner, to be held Friday, Feb. 1 at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, Ariz.

During the awards ceremony, each honoree will receive his NFL Alumni Player of the Year award from a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame who once played the same position. The Don Shula Coach of the Year Award will be presented by the legendary coach Don Shula.

Current NFL players who win this award are chosen by a unique voting process in which former players cast ballots for their modern counterparts. During this star-studded fundraising event, each honoree will receive his Player of the Year Award from a legend enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The NFL Alumni Player of the Year Awards Dinner serves as a major funding vehicle for the youth-oriented programs of the NFL Alumni, a non-profit charitable organization with a motto and mission of CARING FOR KIDS.

Past recipients include: Brett Favre, jason Taylor, and Jerome Bettis. Last year in Miami, Drew Brees, Champ Bailey, and Don Shula were present.

Tickets are available for $12,500 per table of eight, plus NFL legend and guest. For more information, call : (800) 878-5437, x212
