Where, during Super Bowl week, can you play golf during the day, and play poker during the evening, all in the company of sports stars and celebrities? On Thursday, January 29th, 2009, you can have your entire day's activities taken care of, courtesy of the Joyner-Walker Foundation at the Par and Poker Celebrity Challenge for Charity.

Your $500 (plus some extra cash for buy-in and re-buys) towards poker and/or your $1500 towards golf will go to the Kid's Charity of Tampa Bay and the Judeo Christian Health Clinic. So while having a great time and meeting some cool athletes and celebrities from your childhood and present day, you can help to improve the quality of life for foster children and their families, as well as to help provide free-quality healthcare to thousands of uninsured families.

Guests of both events during Thursday will enter an 18-hole golf tournament at TPC Tampa Bay followed by a No Limit Texas Hold'em poker tournament at Tampa Bay Downs in the Silks Poker Room. Confirmed celebrities include Ozzie Smith, Clyde Drexler, Joe Carter, Lawrence Taylor, Ed Moses and Alfonso Ribeiro. Unlike most other Super Bowl events, Par and Poker is free to attend and open to the general public. The Foundation encourages the host city locals to spectate or volunteer.

The website has all the details, including videos of last year's tournaments in Arizona, with dozens of athletes and stars turning out to support the cause. Of course, NFL, and especially Broncos fans can look forward to seeing Seth Joyner at the event, the linebacker who helped bring the Lombardi Trophy to Denver after Super Bowl XXXIII.
